ABOUT THEM

Julius Rosenberg was born May 12, 1918 in New York City.  In his teenage years, his interest in politics made him join the Young Communist League. He attended the City College where he got a degree in electrical engineering. He worked for the U.S. signal corps during WWII. He also began working as spy for the Soviet Union during this time. He was about 35 when executed.

Ethel Rosenberg Ethel Rosenberg was born September 28, 1915 in New York City. She worked for the National New York Packing and Shipping Company after finishing school in 1931. She became a supporter of the Communist Party after she became involved in a workers’ union. She married Julius Rosenberg in 1939. They had two sons named Michael and Robert. After her husband was arrested, she was brought into custody as a co-conspirator. She was 38 when executed.
